Cooperation between the Academy of European Law and Eurojuris International The Academy of European Law (ERA) is a non-profit public foundation that provides training in European law to legal practitioners. Its patrons include most EU Member States. The Academy was founded in 1992 on the initiative of the European Parliament. Supported by the European Union, ERA promotes the awareness, understanding and good practice of EU law by providing legal professionals with training and a forum for debate. ERA’s four sections (Private Law, Business Law, Criminal Law and Public Law) organise conferences, seminars and language courses at different levels in Trier and around Europe. The target groups of these events include not only lawyers in private practice but also judges, prosecutors, notaries, lawyers in business and public administration and other legal practitioners. ERA leads the way in the provision of continuous professional training for legal practitioners on EU law. Legal professionals can benefit from this training direct from the workplace thanks to high-quality e-presentations on the latest developments in European law and introductory and specialised e-learning courses in various fields of EU law. The Academy’s quarterly legal journal, ERA Forum, is published with Springer Science+Business Media. Articles on various aspects of EU law published in the journal are drawn primarily from the most outstanding presentations delivered at ERA's events. A special section is devoted to recent judgments of the EU Courts. ERA and Eurojuris International signed a cooperation agreement that will give partners, associates and staff of law firms which are members of Eurojuris a discount of 25% on the participation fee for ERA open events.
